The Fellow Programme in Management
(FPM) is a doctoral level programme of RGIIM Shillong. The Programme is meant
for scholars with curiosity in knowledge related to management studies. The FPM
at IIM Shillong is planned to be globally recognized, and would be a premier
source of rigorous, and inter-disciplinary research in all areas of management.
The programme is committed to train individuals who will excel in their
respective area as educators and produce high quality research through
publication of quality work of international standard.

Vision of Fellowship Programme in Management
(FPM) of IIM, Shillong
FPM program of IIM Shillong aims at
creating dedicated researchers and scholars who would explore the critical
issues in management, identify opportunities for new frameworks and form new
insights. The program offers opportunities for carrying out advanced
interdisciplinary research in all fields of management education and practice.
Programme Outline
The participant is expected to spend
four to five years for FPM program that includes two years of rigorous course
work. The coursework aims at providing an understanding of management
discipline, building theoretical foundations in the core area, develop basic
skills for analyzing managerial problems and instill research interest. The
coursework is expected to enable the participant to provide the platform for
future research activities. The participant is evaluated through a
Comprehensive Examination after the successful completion of course work and
the doctoral dissertation period begins after successfully clearing the
comprehensive examination. From third year onwards, the doctoral dissertation
work provides them with an opportunity to make original contribution to an area
of management or to one of its disciplines.

- Eligibility
Candidates should
have:
- A Masters’ degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks for General Candidates, 55% (Engineering students) or 50% (non-engineering students) aggregate marks for SC/ST Candidates or equivalent grade point average.
- · A Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 60% marks for General Candidates. 55% (Engineering students) or 50% (non-engineering students) aggregate marks for SC/ST Candidates or equivalent grade point average.
- · Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks for General Candidates. 50% aggregate marks for SC/ST Candidates.
- · Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA/ICAI and CS with a minimum 55% aggregate marks.
The above qualification should be from
any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state
legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of
Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act,
1956; or, recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Candidates
who are in the final year of their qualifying programmes that would make them
eligible can also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join
the programme provisionally only if they submit a certificate latest by June
30, 2017 from the Principal/ Head of the Department / Registrar or Director of
the University / Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2017) stating that
they have appeared for the examinations (including practical examinations) in
all the subjects required for obtaining the Master's / Bachelor's degree /
equivalent qualification. Their admission will be confirmed only when they
submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the Master's / Bachelor's
degree / equivalent qualification referred to in the certificate issued by
Principal / Registrar of their college / Institute. The deadline for submission
of mark sheet and the Certificate is December 31, 2017. Please note that those
candidates who have applied on the basis of their master's degree will have to
meet the required marks stipulation, and those who have applied on the basis of
their bachelor's degree will have to meet the required marks stipulation.
Non-fulfillment of these conditions will automatically result in the
cancellation of the provisional admission.
