What to Expect From IoT
Many managers art trying to figure out how the emerging internet of thing (IoT) will generate value for their organizations. To understand the challenges and opportunities, MIT Sloan Management Review, with sponsorship support from Teradata Corp. conducted a survey of 1480 executives managers, and IT professionals and published a report about the findings.
Among the report's main conclusions:
· The IoT is not just about connecting things. it is also about connecting the organization with it customers suppliers and competitors.
· Creating business value from the IoT is strongly associated with sharing data with other organizations
· Companies with strong analytics capabilities are more likely to get value from IoT than those with weaker analytics capabilities.
· General Managers seem to underappreciated potential security issues that
accompany device network growth.
