ONGC Scholarship

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) a Maharatna Company under the aegis of Government of India is offering 1000 scholarships to meritorious economically backward general and OBC students worth Rs. 48,000/- each.Out of the total number of scholarships 50% are reserved for girl students. ONGC Scholarship is open to all Indian students pursuing four years Engineering, MBBS and two years masters’ course in Business Administration and two years Master’s Degree in Geology/Geophysics.

The stream wise and Zone wise distribution of ONGC scholarships is as follows:
Eligibility
1. ONGC Scholarship is for Indian Students pursuing their studies from in India.
2. The student must belong to EBC General or OBC category and should be pursuing his first year study in Engineering, MBBS, and Master in Geology/Geophysics or MBA.
3. The scholarship scheme will be admissible only for pursuing full-time regular courses from UGC/MCI/AICTE recognized universities located in India.
4. The candidate must have scored atleast 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/OGPA in 12th Standard, Engineering and MBBS discipline. Similarly, those applying for PG level scholarship such as Geology/Geophysics/MBA must have secured minimum 60% marks at graduation level.
5. The specific zone for disbursement of scholarship shall be decided on the basis location of School/University/College/Institute from which the student has appeared for the qualifying exam.(i.e 12thStandard for Graduate level course and Graduation degree for Post-Graduate Level Courses) irrespective of his domicile certificate.
6.The gross joint family income of applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs per annum.(The applicant has to attached income certificate issued by competent authority)
7.The maximum age of the candidate should not be above 30 years  as on 1st September 2016 for the current academic session.
8.The beneficiary under the scholarship scheme should not be availing or intend to avail any other financial aid or scholarship from any other source.

Deadline Details
1.Commencement of online applications process: 1st September 2016
2.Last date for submitting online applications : 10th October 2016
3.Last date for sending hard copy of application form by post is 31st October 2016.


Scholarship Amount Details
Each student under ONGC scholarship scheme will be entitled to receive an amount worth Rs.48,000/- per annum.
Procedure
1. The candidate fulfilling the eligibility criterion may apply online from 1st September 2016 by clicking on apply link of the site.
Note: Those who are not registered with the site will have to register themselves on site in order to apply.
2. After click on the apply link you will be directed to the “Instruction” page. Please go through the notification carefully and click on “Apply Online” tab. On clicking the Apply Online tab a new page will appear choose your discipline and select all checkboxes and click on Save & Next tab and you will be taken to the ONGC Scholarship application form.
3. The online application form has six sections viz., Primary details, Details for Communication, Educational Details, Details of Institute Studying in, Bank Details and Declaration section. Fill all the sections carefully and click on Next button to proceed further.
4. After submission of online application form take a print out of the form and send the hard copy of application form along with all supporting documents superscribing on envelope “ONGC SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR ECONOMICALLY BACKWARD GENERAL AND OBC CATEGORY STUDENTS” to Post Box No-2091, Chennai-600020, Tamil Nadu (INDIA)
Supporting documents to be enclosed along with the application form:
       i.            Final mark sheet of last qualifying exam(mandatory)
     ii.            Income certificate issued by competent authority
  iii.            CGPA to percentage conversion certificate issued by University/College/Institute
  iv.            Caste certificate (wherever applicable)
     v.            BPL certificate (wherever applicable)
  vi.            PAN Card
vii.            Aadhaar Card
viii.            ECS Mandate form duly certified by Bank authority
